Say what you will about 2007, it was not a boring year in music. From tabloid titillation to artistic leaps of faith, commercial cash-grabs and blatant face-flops, there was nary a dull moment.
Rewind back to February and you'll find Montreal's own Arcade Fire sparking a publicist's dream of pre-album-release brouhaha with five sold-out nights in each of London, New York and Montreal, before launching Neon Bible on March 6.
Leader Win Butler and his townfolk-rock posse launched an inadvertently brilliant YouTube marketing campaign by filing out of London's St. John's Church and into the square, performing their song Wake Up unplugged and open-air, to the delight of local residents and spontaneous cellphone-cam documentarians alike.
